Raised by an alcoholic mother and without a father, Jonna learned at a young age to put her needs on the back-burner. After her mother dies of cancer, she goes on a spiritual journey looking for enlightenment and a purpose for her life. Eventually, she ends up as a volunteer in the relief effort following Hurricane Ike. There she meets a man who will forever change her life.
In the swamps of Louisiana and the hills of Arkansas, Jonna follows her heart to build a life with an American hero - a 20 year veteran of the Army Special Forces. Only after uprooting her whole life, leaving everything and everyone she knows behind, do the pieces of this fairytale start to unravel. Loving For Crumbs - An Anthology.
ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FROM WRITERS AND NON-WRITERS WITH A GREAT STORY TO TELL about a time in your life when you were willing to love for crumbs. Stories can be funny, sad, heart wrenching or even downright pathetic. (Hey, we've all been there!)
When did you realize you had been giving all your love in exchange for crumbs. How did you find the courage to walk away? Or did you? Looking for stories from women, men, straight or gay. Not looking for fiction. Stories should be true. Not all stories need to be about romantic love. Some of us have given our hearts completely to that ungrateful pet who ate our shoes, peed on our rugs and ran away. Loving for crumbs can take many forms. Submissions can be up to 10,000 words with easy to read font and proper punctuation.
Stories written in ALL CAPS will not be considered. Include title, current contact information and author bio. Please submit in word doc as an attachment to jonna@jonnaivin.com -
